Something to Sing About...

Salzburg Returns With Trip Extension Opportunity

After a year on hiatus, Salzburg returns to the list of venues for 2008. As in past years, the chorus will reside in the small town of Mondsee, fifteen miles from Salzburg. This Austrian town, situated at the foot of lofty mountains and one end of a lake, is dotted with medieval dwellings and shops that line cobblestone streets. The Mondsee Basilica, where the chorus performs one of the week’s two concert programs, was the setting of several scenes from the movie Sound of Music.

The second singing performance takes place in the majestic Salzburg Cathedral as part of the Sunday morning mass service, accompanied by the Orchester der Dom Musik.

In addition to the week in Salzburg/Mondsee, BCF is offering an extension trip to Vienna and Budapest. Upon completion of the performance in the Salzburg Cathedral, those who want to continue their time in Europe can sign up for a seven-day trip to Vienna and Budapest.
